The Rev. Eugene LeCouteur is the 25th rector of Emmanuel Church. He came to Emmanuel on All Saints’ Day 2017, having previously served at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church as Lay Associate for Formation and Education from 2008-2014. He as ordained to the priesthood in 2014 and served for three years as Associate Rector at St. Stephen’s. Gene has a varied work history including Colonial Williamsburg, human services, gourmet food and wine, electric guitar making, and public opinion and research. He received his BA from The College of William & Mary, an MBA from Cornell University, and M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond. It took him several career moves and educational adventures, but he finally found his calling in biblical study and pastoral ministry. In his free time Gene enjoys travel, cooking, reading, classic and international movies, DIY and taking his 1967 MGB for drives on country roads.
